In about 20 days from now, the world will be treated to the greatest entertainment of all times – OLYMPICS. As far as I can remember I always looked forward to the Olympics where I’d find myself glued to the TV watching, holding my breath as my favourite athletes took part. This year will be no exception as I will be cheering my favourite athletes starting with Team Kenya.

One of the major changes to this year’s games will be the integration with the virtual world. The organizing committee has created a virtual world where fans can interact with their favourite athletes – The Olympics Athletes Hub. The committee went a step further and partnered with Facebook to create Social Media Stadium.
In his article, Why Kenyans Make Such Great Runners, Max Fisher of The Atlantic, sort to establish the reason that make Kenyans such a dominant force in the world of marathon making them such good runners. In it he wrote, “Scientific research on the success of Kenyan runners has yet to discover a Cool Runnings gene that makes Kenyans biologically predisposed to reaching for the stars, or any scientific basis for Gladwell’s argument that they just care more.”
The answer to that question is still elusive…
